Jason A. Harris

MRASC Program Manager, TEDCO

Maryland Technology Development Corporation

Mr. Harris manages the Maryland Research and Applied Sciences Consortium (MRASC) Applied Research and Development Project (ARDP).

Prior to joining TEDCO, Mr. Harris worked at Wyle Laboratories.  While working at Wyle from September 2004 to September 2007, Mr. Harris served as Principal Engineer, Engineering Technologist / Technology Transition Liaison, Advanced Technology Review Board (ATRB) Facilitator and Project Test Pilot.  At Wyle, Mr. Harris provided technological transition and technical support to the Naval Aviation Systems Command (NAVAIR) Advanced Technology Review Board (ATRB) program. He has experience in program management; business development; engineering, cost and operation analyses in support of Research and Development (R&D); acquisition and production decisions; test and evaluation; systems integration; and tactical and organizational development.  Mr. Harris supported and worked closely with NAVAIR program managers, academia and private industry to facilitate the transition of new systems/technologies from R&D programs to government systems.  His support included examination of system requirements, assessment of new technologies in terms of ability to meet future requirements, development of transition plans for selected projects, and familiarity with trade-offs between new and existing technologies.

As project test pilot, Mr. Harris assisted in flight test planning, scheduling, execution, post-flight analysis and risk assessment.  He conducted developmental flight tests of modified U.S. Naval aircraft, including the assessment of performance and functionality of aircraft systems from early development through military acceptance.  From February 2001 through September 2004, Mr. Harris served on active duty as a U.S. Navy Test Project Pilot.

He has a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park.  He is also a graduate from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Aviation Safety Officer Program.
